The days are turning somber here in Northern side of Europe, luckily there are ways to ease into the dark season of winter. On Sunday evening we decided to join the finale festival of Linnanmäki, Helsinki’s amusement park. There is no better way to close the season than a place filled with festive ambience, music and lots of fun. Being surrounded by colourful and beautiful lights is therapy for the soul.
The experience was greater than expected, as we enjoyed it through the eyes of our 2-year-old boy. Taken aback by the wonderful sight, little Pol is awed and silenced by the merriment around him. And soon he wanted to touch everything, to go every ride and to explain to everyone that about this magical place he is discovering.
Linnanmäki, located in the heart of Helsinki, offers the visitors multiple ways to enjoy the city. You can overlook the city from the Panorama tower, take a slow ride in Carousel or let the adrenaline fill your body when the lights become a blur and you can feel the joy of being alive. Visit Linnamäki and become a child again!
The Carnival of Light takes place from 13th to 21st Oct. Sat-Sun 1 pm – 10 pm, Wed-Fri 5 pm – 10 pm, Mon-Tue closed.
